Who We Are
This is a non-profit organization. We have no commercial partnerships or affiliations with organizations that are doing business with HOAs. We have an all-volunteer staff.
Our Mission, our Vision
Our mission is to advocate for people who live in communities with owner's associations, especially condominium owner associations. Our vision is affordable and enjoyable HOA living.
How We Work
We engage residents living in communities with owner's associations through four initiatives and a free member forum to make HOA living more affordable and enjoyable.
We Support these Initiatives that will Empower Your Community
(When we say “HOA”, we mean all types of owner associations.)
Enacting Oversight Of Misguided HOA Boards
When you suspect your HOA board is breaking the law, making poor financial decisions, or is routinely hostile and combative, do you know where you can go to resolve your concern?
Obtain Urgent Financing for HOA Infrastructure
HOAs can borrow to fund assessments for major infrastructure improvements. The problem is that the loan terms are not favorable.
Enforce Oversight of HOA Management Companies
For many Americans, their home is their largest and sometimes only asset. If you live in an HOA, that asset is managed by a Property Management Company (PMC) that is minimally regulated by your state.
Provide Impartial Training to Board Members
Typically, HOA boards consist of homeowners who volunteer to serve in roles for which they have varying abilities to do the job.
“For most people in the lower to middle income range, their home is their largest asset; for some, it is their only asset; for those without equity, it’s shelter. If you live in an HOA, and nearly 75 million Americans do, this asset/shelter could be managed by people with limited or no training. ” – Tina Martin
Owners Are Asking: How can I help?
- If you have some time we need a lot of help with the Initiatives. Please consider volunteering.
- If you have more money than time, please consider donating.
- At the very least all owners should join and complete these anonymous questionnaires. (Since we have just launched, we need to build up the membership fast, so that legislators know that we have a strong cause. When you complete the forms we will use that data to show legislators what the problems are).
Oh, by the way, some initiatives are being piloted in PA to help finalize our approach for this nationwide. In 2025, we plan to launch this initiative in other high-population states.
